What is BroadBand Light (BBL)?

BBL delivers light energy to gently heat up the upper layers of your skin. The heat absorbed by the targeted areas will stimulate your skin cells to regenerate. In addition, the light energy penetrates deep into the skin to boost your body's natural ability to fight the appearance of aging.

What results can I expect?
After only one treatment, your skin will have a more even tone with a smoother look and feel. Sunspots will pepper and fall off or fade. Pore sizes will shrink. Fine lines and wrinkles will gradually decrease in size. These improvements will steadily increase with each treatment. Patients with rosacea will see a progressive decrease in redness with every treatment. Capillaries and spots of concerned can also be strategically treated with this new technology.

What will recovery be like?
After the BBL, discomfort is almost nonexistent. After treatment with most light systems, the treated skin may appear flushed and sunspots will look darker. The flushed look soon fades away, and the sunspots will start to look peppery and fall off within 7-10 days.

How many treatments will I need?
Depending on the area treated, most clients need a series of approximately 1-4 treatments. Treatments usually take 30-45 minutes and can be spaced out in 4-6 week intervals. If receiving a Forever Clear treatment, the spacing can be 2 weeks between appointments. 

Does the BBL hurt?
Most patients describe the sensation to be like the snap of a rubber band on the skin as the pulses of energy are delivered through the handpiece. After treatment, the pain is minimal to nonexistent.

Who are the best candidates for the BBL treatments?
Clients with red, flushed faces, rosacea, pigmented acne scars, sun-damaged skin, hyperpigmentation, and enlarged pores or active acne are the best candidates.

BBL Pre Care Contraindications  

• No scrubs, glycolic and salicylic acid in the past 5 days
• No antibiotics in the last 7 days
• No retinol, or retinol products, in the past 2 weeks 
• No chemical peels in the last 4 weeks
• No prolonged sun exposure, sunburns, or tans in the past 4 weeks
• No Accutane in the past 6 months
