How long does the procedure last?
The appointment time is about 75 minutes. The first half of the appointment includes numbing, consent, and going over post care procedures
Does the CO2 Laser treatment hurt?
We apply a thick layer of strong topical numbing cream, however the treatment may still be uncomfortable depending on pain tolerance. If you have any concerns, please reach out to Kelly to formulate a plan for extra comfort measures
How long is recovery?
Down time depends on the patient and their lifestyle. However typical downtime is 5-7 days. The first few days expect swelling and redness. An occlusive barrier is required for 7 days total following the procedure

Avoid sun exposure for at least one week prior to treatment. If sun exposure cannot be avoided, a sunscreen of SPF 30 or greater should be worn as well as a hat. A sunscreen with UVA and UVB coverage provides best protection
Notify Kelly if you are prone to cold sores prior to the treatment
Pre-treatment prescriptions, such as oral antibiotics or antiviral medications, should be filled before the CO2 treatment
Avoid using active ingredients and oral antibiotics one week prior to CO2 treatment
Post care instructions will be sent home with detailed information, and Kelly will check in throughout the week to assure you are comfortable during the healing process
